BRIDGE HOUSE
Cutchogue, NY

Situated on its own private peninsula, this waterfront property presented a unique design challenge: the only allowable location for a swimming pool was directly in the front yard. Through strategic design, we seamlessly integrated the pool into the landscape by rerouting the driveway and implementing extensive native screening—ensuring that visitors remain unaware they’re passing a hidden oasis. The wild, native-planted buffer not only provides privacy but also enhances the poolside experience, immersing users in a lush, natural setting. Given the site’s location within a flood zone, the pool required elevation above grade, a constraint we transformed into an opportunity—employing thoughtful design and detailing to elevate its aesthetic appeal. This project exemplifies how our creative problem-solving and technical expertise allow us to navigate complex environmental regulations while delivering stunning, functional landscapes for challenging properties.
